On July 1, 2023, I redeemed my birthday gift - Bridgewalking on the old Little Belt Bridge.
Just before I was going up to the bridge, I received a message that my prototypes would be delivered to my home later that day.
When I stood on top of the bridge, feeling the wind in my hair and the rush in my stomach, I thought it was very symbolic of my journey as an entrepreneur of new Danish design.
All the challenges, decisions, uncertainties, setbacks, progress and hours that go into starting a business. All the gut-wrenching, tailwinds and headwinds.
But wait, what a view and a great experience. It's worth it!
Then the trip home went quickly, because now the package had been delivered.
With sweaty hands and a pounding heart, I opened the package.
One by one I carefully unwrapped each figure and placed them all in front of me on the table.
And then suddenly there they were. The prototypes of my first 10 designs.
Hold on, they are beautiful. Much more beautiful than I had seen in the pictures that were sent to me from Vietnam. So beautiful, and the wood was so soft to the touch, and the details were impressive.
There I sat, all alone in my living room, eyes wide open.
Finally!
This is what I've been visualizing since I started my business. Now it was time. Now it finally happened.
Now I can get started showing all of Denmark my tribute to all the skilled, clever and diligent craftsmen in the form of their very own figure in a new Danish design.
